Bolivia has long produced high quality coffee beans, with the first plants being introduced to the country around the mid-1800s and coffee production becoming a significant industry in the country by the early 20th century.

Roasted to order, our Guatemala coffee offers a medium strength and a strong, full flavour that will delight all coffee drinkers, and is best prepared from a cafetiere or by filter to really bring out the flavours. What's more, our Guatemala coffee is only sourced from Rainforest Alliance certified growers, which gives us the reassurance that the beans are being harvested from sustainable plantations in conserved areas of land. The coffee industry in Guatemala began to develop in the 1850s, with small plantations flourishing. Cultivation of coffee and the country's coffee industry was given a sizeable boost during the Liberal Revolution of 1871, when goals of modernisation and trade improvements caused the bean to become an especially important crop. To this day coffee remains one of Guatemala's main exports, along with sugar, textiles and bananas. The particular bean used in our medium and mellow Dark Maragogype is known as the 'Elephant Bean', which, as its name suggests, is selected because of its larger size. The Elephant Bean, grown in higher, temperate regions, produces a coffee that is smoother and richer in flavour than standard arabica beans, combined with a slight acidity, resulting in an all-round coffee that can be enjoyed from cafetiere or filters, or as a punchy espresso.

Our Dark Colombian is a slightly stronger coffee than our Colombian Medium Roast, which makes it more versatile as it is suitable for cafetiere use, filter coffees and intense espressos. Again using Medellin Excelso, from Colombia's Cordillera Central in the Andes, this excellent coffee really does display some of the finer qualities of the renowned Colombian coffee bean: a rich aroma, luxurious depth and sweet flavours of fruit and chocolate. These Colombian beans benefit from being grown in an area that is known as the 'tierra templada', the Colombian term for the climatic zone located between 900 and 1,980 meters that provides ideal growing conditions. The conditions in the tierra templada, or 'temperate land' result in a robust bean that gives a full-bodied coffee and an intense espresso, topped off with a hint of sharp acidity. In terms of strength and acidity levels, you might like to consider Peru Coffee. Based on the characteristics of this variety, you might also like to try guatemala elephant coffee beans.

This luxuriously smooth and pleasingly mild coffee is sourced from a family operated plantation in the small town of Captain Cook, situated on the volcanic slopes of Mauna Loa. The plantation, established in 1997, offers the ideal elevation of 2,500 ft. for our Kona Hawaii to grow, where the beans benefit from a microclimate of sun-drenched mornings, cloud covered afternoons, mild nights and abundant rainfall that lets them mature slowly to a large size and a superb grade. Such is the perfection of this location that Kona coffees are largely considered one of the finest speciality coffees in the world, and it is only coffee that has been grown in the mineral-rich Kona Districts that can be ascribed with the coveted name. The exquisite flavours of this coffea arabica Kona makes for a truly luxurious treat, and combined with a full body and moderate acidity, this coffee is perfect for cafetiere and filters.
